The Parkland Nurse to Nurse Mentoring Program is a six-month development experience designed for nurses across all career stages — early, mid, and advanced career. The program creates space for meaningful, one-to-one connections that help nurses grow personally and professionally, while contributing to Parkland’s culture of excellence in patient care.
Through monthly mentoring conversations, participants will explore focus areas that strengthen clinical skills, build resilience, and prepare nurses for long-term success in their careers at Parkland. Whether you are new to the profession, deepening your expertise, or reflecting on your legacy, this program provides the guidance, support, and collaboration needed to thrive.

Focus Areas for Growth
The program is tailored to the developmental needs of nurses at different career stages. Conversations will align with focus areas that matter most to professional success including:
- Early-Career Nurses (0-5 years): Building clinical confidence, time management, communication, emotional resilience, navigating hospital culture, and establishing a professional identity
- Mid-Career Nurses (6–15 years): Sustaining clinical excellence, mentoring others, engaging in quality improvement, integrating evidence-based practices, advancing leadership influence, and exploring career mobility
- Advanced-Career Nurses (16+ years): Legacy building, knowledge transfer, adapting to new care models and technology, wellbeing and energy management, intergenerational communication, and transition planning
Through Mentoring, Participants Will:
- Build trusted, supportive relationships across Parkland
- Expand professional networks and visibility
- Gain actionable career strategies and skills
- Strengthen confidence, resilience, and adaptability
- Contribute to a culture of learning, excellence, and compassionate care
Program Commitment
- Length: 6 months
- Meetings: Minimum of once per month (pairs may choose to meet more frequently)
- Format: Flexible — meetings can be in person, virtual, or hybrid, depending on what works best for participant
